Plan of the first houses in Rawson, originally drawn by R. J. Berwyn, copy by Tegai Roberts

Plan of the first houses in Rawson, originally drawn by R. J. Berwyn, copy by Tegai Roberts Trerawson (Rawson today) was the town which developed near the first settlement in Caer Antur. Murga named the place 'Pueblo de Rawson' but the Welsh used the Welsh name, 'Trerawson'. On the plan some of the original settlers' houses can be seen, such as R. J. Berwyn, J. M. Roberts and Abraham Matthews. It is worth noting how close these homes are to the River Camwy. The great flood of 1899 had a devastating effect on these houses and a number of the Welsh settlers lost all their property.
