Letter from Mihangel ap Iwan to Mrs L. D. Jones, 17 March 1929 [page 1, image 1 of 2]
Mihangel ap Iwan writes to Mrs L. D. Jones to inform her that the Rev. Ellis Jones has received a copy of William Meloch Hughes's volume on the Welsh Settlement, and that it is she who should be thanked for it. He speaks highly of her late husband, L. D. Jones. He encloses some daffodil seeds from Nant y Pysgod. He had also collected some samples of Argentine trees, which he intended to send to her husband. However, after receiving the sad news of her husband's death, he asked Mrs R. O. Jones to deliver them to Alun Roberts, Proffessor of Agriculture. He later heard that Mrs R. O. Jones had been struck ill during the sea voyage and had died soon after her arrival. Consequently, Mihangel does not know whether or not Prof. Roberts has received the package.
